What are some of the causes of foundation settlement?
  Some causes of foundation settlement include the following:
  • Shrinking and swelling of the clay soils found in the gulf coast region
  • Large trees located near the foundation

  • What are some of the signs that I have foundation problems? 
      Some signs of foundation problems include noticeable sloping in the floor, doors and windows that do not open or close properly and cracks in sheetrock or brick veneer.
    What happens when I call A-Tech Foundation Repair for an estimate?
      When you call A-Tech for an estimate, we will schedule an appointment for you with an experienced sales representative. The sales rep will come out to your home and evaluate your foundation using visual inspections along with a digital level device. After evaluating your foundation, we will mail you a written estimate along with a detailed drawing showing where the pilings are to be placed. If you do not need any repairs, we will let you know this at your home. 
    How long does a typical job take?
      Each job will require a different length of time to complete. An average job takes approximately two to three days to complete.
    What will happen to my yard and shrubs?
      We take the utmost care to protect your shrubs from demise, including wrapping shrub roots in plastic. However, we cannot guarantee the survival of your shrubs. We take pride in leaving your lawn as neat and clean as when we begin the work.
    What is the difference between a pier and beam foundation and a slab foundation?
      A pier and beam foundation is one that is supported by blocks or piers that raise the foundation above the ground level. There is typically a crawl space under the foundation. A slab foundation is one that is poured at ground level. A-Tech Foundation repairs both types of foundations.

    Does my homeowner's insurance cover repairs?
      If you have a plumbing leak your homeowner’s insurance may cover part of the repairs. You will need to consult with your insurance representative to determine if they cover plumbing leaks and subsequent foundation settlement. If after inspection we suspect a plumbing leak maybe causing the settlement, we will let you know to contact your representative.
